This latest in the long-running series shows Michaels still has plenty to say about the Sisterhood ladies, who’ve overcome personal disaster and protect not only themselves, but victims everywhere in a first-rate tale of politics, friends and loyalty.

Myra and Charles return from their shortened honeymoon as the ladies receive some unsettling news. Their friend and attorney, Lizzie Fox, the chief White House counsel, is on the short list for a soon-to-be vacated seat on the Supreme Court. Though thrilled for Lizzie, they worry that her association with them could damage the approval process — not to mention their pardons. Now they have to find out if the president is as good as her word, and if there is a sinister plot to destroy their friend, bring down the Sisterhood — and even the presidency.
