Book Review

GAMER GIRL
by Mari Mancusi

Genre: Young Adult, Contemporary Young Adult

RT Rating

Unfortunately, this is a cute yet utterly predictable book with a very overused plot. The manga twist is neat, but an easily guessed storyline will make this novel hard for readers to finish.

Maddy's parents just split, she's stuck in a new town without any of her friends and, of course, her grandmother embarrasses her on the first day of school. She withdraws into her manga and the computer game she gets for her birthday. Yet she also knows she has to deal with real life by making friends and perhaps finding out if her online romance has any real-life potential.
