Even the more than a little suggestive title is a hook. Sexual tension sustains the story, and Forster creates such believable characters -- who deal with circumstances that imperil their dreams for true happiness -- that it's easy to reach beyond the pages and find nonfiction replicas. You'll eagerly keep reading to learn how the characters' lives intersect and will sigh with pure satisfaction when it ends.

Interior decorator Susan Pettiford decides to do one wild thing before she succumbs to the illness that ravages her body. She seduces Lucas Hamilton, a wealthy architect and most eligible bachelor, but her plan for a one-night stand backfires.

Their love for children keeps
bringing them together and is also what keeps them apart. When Lucas demands to know why Susan seduced him, her answer will determine the course of their future. (Dafina, Aug., 304
