THE GHOST HUNTRESS BOOK: THE COUNSELING
Another sparkling addition to the Ghost Huntress series! Gibson handles the change of scenery well. The author uses many details about California to reinforce Kendall's change in location. Furthermore, the author illustrates her talent when maintaining several truth's about how Kendall interacts with her friends, despite the fact that most of the characters the heroine interacts with are new to the series. A nice development in Gibson's supernatural world is the way that The Counseling is the way incorporates Native American rituals.
For spring break Kendall’s parents send her across the country to a camp for psychic teens. Kendall is hoping for some serious R&R to help heal her broken heart but, things don't work out that way. Before she can even settle in, there’s a ghost at the end of her bed asking her for help. Will Kendall be able to help or has her last ghostly encounter left her burnt out? And could her fellow camper, the guitar playing cutie, be the guy who’s been in her dreams? (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, May, $8.99, ISBN: 9780547393070, PB, 12& Up)
