GHOST STALKER (4) by Jenna Kernan: Nagi, ruler of ghosts, sends ghosts to injure shapeshifter Nicholas Chien in the hopes of finding the as-yet-unborn twins who will eventually grow to defeat him. Injured Nick turns to Jessie Healey, a Niyanoka who has sworn to keep mankind safe from creatures like him, for medical attention and help. Even though wolf shifters are her kind’s sworn enemy, Jessie is drawn to Nick, and she protects him even though it could ruin her relationship with her family. Native American mythology combines with the supernatural for a fun read. Kernan does a great job depicting Jessie’s reluctance to get involved with Nick and Nick’s desire to keep her safe at all costs.
