Kantor once again demonstrates her uncanny ability to write believable teen characters. In fact, Kate is sometimes aggravating just because she's so real. Readers will cringe and cheer Kate to the very last page of this satisfying read.

Kate's perfect summer is completely decimated when her mom drags her across the country, from Arizona to Cape Cod, to stay with her mom's old friends.
