The third installment of the H.O.T. Cops series moves the action to Miami Beach. Rogan Wolfe is looking for a fresh start. The BDSM theme is mild, albeit a bit awkward, but it acknowledges that these are two consenting adults exploring their limits. That said, the narrative plays out with evocative scenes that will excite readers.

Rogan joins Miami P.D. when his relationship woes force him to re-evaluate what he’s looking for in a woman. Does he even want a long-term relationship? April is a corporate lawyer whose life revolves around her family. She’s so busy taking care of her two younger sisters, as well as the grandmother who raised them, that she has lost sight of what she wants. When the two meet, April soon realizes that her submissive side is not a weakness. It also signals to her that it’s time to put her needs first. Rogan learns that he enjoys his dominant side and that his growing affection for April is what he’s been missing since leaving Michigan. (NAL, Jan., 311 pp., $15.00)
