THE GLASSWRIGHTS' JOURNEYMAN (4) is the poignant aftermath of a city's destruction and what its king will sacrifice to rebuild by Mindy L. Klasky. Rani Trader goes with Hal the king to negotiate a bride from a neighboring kingdom. Rani hopes to also trade for the whereabouts of the devastated city's children—sold as slaves by the former king. Hal needs money to rebuild his city, and his actions strain his subjects' loyalty. Ms. Klasky spins a finely crafted story with believable characters and devious plot developments. The sacrifices in this novel will hopefully be resolved in the next installment. (Jun., 352 pp., $6.99)
