GOD DON’T MAKE NO MISTAKES
This sixth and final visit with Annette and her family is a moderately paced story with enough twists and turns to keep the reader turning the pages to find out what is going to happen next.
Annette is working with her husband, Pee Wee, trying to put their marriage back together after indiscretions by the both of them. Their reconciliation hits a snag when Pee Wee’s mistress ends up pregnant and claims the baby is his. Rhoda, Annette’s best friend, has her own problem: Jade, her adult daughter who is still clutching her mother’s apron strings. Totally selfish and evil, Jade is determined to make everyone pay for her misery, including her mother. While Annette and Rhoda take turns talking through the drama in their lives, Annette’s sister comes to visit to get away from her drama, adding to the tension in Annette’s house. When Annette’s daughter is caught up in an unexpected crisis with their new neighbor, Annette is forced to look at her life and to do what’s best for all concerned. (DAFINA, Jun., 304 pp., $24.00)
