Like an exquisite cupcake with a surprise filling, this new installment in the Cupcake Bakery series contains something unexpected. Thought-provoking observations about workplace politics and difficult colleagues change the tone briefly and may make you stop and think for a moment. It’s a delicious mystery that’s sure to please.

Mel and Angie are thrilled that their cupcake bakery will be featured in a popular magazine. After the photo shoot turns into a brawl, with cupcakes serving as weapons, the magazine’s owner coerces the duo to make amends by leading a baking boot camp for his staff. Soon after the boot camp gets under way, longstanding hostilities surface among the magazine staff. When one of them is murdered, Mel must help find the killer to save her beloved business.
