The perfect blend of health food and havoc start off this great new mystery series set on an organic farm and spa. Dana is a spunky heroine who successfully dodges wheatgrass shots and tofu tacos. The dialogue flows smoothly and the family dynamics ring true. Strong plotting drives the story to a suspenseful ending. Here’s a fantastic start to a fresh series with healthy living tips included!

Dana Lewis has returned to Blossom Valley, Calif., to help her mother readjust to life after Dana’s father’s death. Jobs are scarce in Blossom Valley, so Dana is happy to be working at the O’Connell Organic Farm and Spa. Opening weekend draws a good crowd including Hollywood producer Maxwell Mendelsohn and actress Tiffany Starling. It looks like the spa is a big hit, until Dana stumbles upon Maxwell’s dead body while changing towels in his room. Who would want the producer dead? His assistant? The young starlet? An ex-wife? The maid? The list of suspects is endless, but Dana knows she must solve the producer’s murder fast before all the guests start checking out for good. (KENSINGTON, Jul., 297 pp., $7.99)
