As children, cousins Anastasia and Breanna Colby each receive a coin from their grandfather: gold for Anastasia, silver for Breanna. Each was told to never show it to anyone, and to never sell it, no matter how much money was offered.

Anastasia returns to England from the U.S. after her parents die to live with her autocratic Uncle George, Breannas father. Her fathers will states that Uncle George is her guardian until she turns 21 and her financial guardian is Damen Lockwood, the Marquess of Sheldrake. George is furious because he was counting on Stacies inheritance. Stacie is furious because she can handle her money and doesnt need a guardian. Only Damen seems unworried.

Stacie has good business acumen and wants to set up a bank in America. Damen doesnt agree until she tries to solicit financial help. Only then does he agree to be her partner. Soon they share a passion thatkindles a fire of everlasting love.

The legacy of the coins begins, to divide the family. As accidents begin to befall Stacie, she and Breanna join forces to find out who is trying to harm Stacie.

Ms. Kane has written a true romance, filled with exciting, heroic characters, sinister villains, steamy passion and humor. The desire and respect between Anastasia and Damen coupled with the love of family shared by Anastasia and Breanna make this romance a keeper. And look for Breannas story next month. I, for one, cant wait. SENSUAL (Sep., 455 pp., $6.50)
