GOLDEN VAMPIRE (3) by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom: When Jesse Stewart travels to Slovenia to find the kidnapped daughter of a U.S. senator, she meets vampire Lance Van Baaren, and is drawn to a man she initially believes is an evil vampire. But Lance is a Guardian, sworn to protect the pure vampire blood he holds from dilutions, and he’s determined to help Jesse rescue the girl from the evil vampires who hold her. Jesse eventually learns that Lance saved her as a child in LA by giving her his blood when she and her parents were attacked by vampires. With an interesting storyline and nicely drawn characters, this story starts off a bit too slowly. The buildup to the action and Jesse and Lance’s attraction are too drawn out. Also, the story could have used a bit more description.
