GONE
by Lisa McMann

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal

RT Rating

As McMann concludes her dream catcher trilogy, those new to this world may find themselves at a disadvantage, since things pick up with barely a glance back to explain the characters and their motivations. When broken down, this intriguing and sparsely written story is a simple but powerful paranormal tale.

It's summer and Janie is on vacation with friends and her boyfriend Cabel. The idyllic respite is cut short when she learns that the father she's never known is in the hospital dying and her alcoholic mother is out of control again. Rushing home, Janie fights the urge to learn more about her father's isolated life. This proves impossible as Janie, a dream catcher, visits him at the hospital and is ensconced in his dream -- quite literally. (SIMON PULSE,
