Collins does it again with her trademark suspense that will keep readers up late into the night. The three main characters are distinguished by their different dialects, which gets quite annoying to read at times. Yet if this can be overlooked, the mystery is expertly written and an incredibly worthwhile read.

The small town of Amaryllis, Miss., has experienced five murders over the past three years. A serial killer is loose and targets women who have no apparent connection to each other. Things are quiet for quite some time, and then the killer strikes again. Three women, Tully, Deena and Cherrie Mae, all think they know who the killer might be, and none think it is the same person! They combine forces to find out who committed the crimes before another victim surfaces. (B&H, Mar., 352 pp., $14.99)
