GONE WITH THE NERD
by Vicki Lewis Thompson

Genre: Contemporary Romance, General Contemporary Romance

RT Rating

When glitzy movie star Zoe Tarleton decides to audition for the role of a nerdy scientist, she has some preparing to do. Glamour queen Zoe knows her uncool attorney, Flynn Granger,
can help transform her into a true nerd.

While Flynn's logical mind may not covet stylish cars or fashionable clothes, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the spunky actress and agrees to coach her. Their secluded weekend in Bigfoot country, however, turns dangerous when "accidents" begin happening and word
of Zoe's fame leaks out.

Thompson's novel is a light, fast read with a good-hearted heroine and a nerdy dreamboat of a hero. The over-the-top situations the protagonists get themselves into are cute, but some gags go on for
too long and the secondary characters behave predictably. Overall, the story is fun and filled with pop culture. (Aug., 400 pp., $6.99)
