Humor and warmth pour forth from marvelously talented Emily Carmichael's books like warm rain. Jackson and Rachel's enchanting relationship makes this read loads of fun.

Mega-movie hunk Jackson Stone faces a situation tougher than any he's faced in his movies…riding herd on his 13-year-old daughter, Cherie. After learning that Cherie has run off with budding rock star Jimmy Toledo, Jackson thought taking Cherie and a motor home out to Arizona was a good temporary plan to escape the tabloids.

Widow Rachel Marsh is working her tail off trying to preserve her 11-year-old son Sam's heritage, the Lazy M Ranch. Turning it into a "dude" ranch for vacationers has almost kept their finances afloat. Still, Rachel thinks she must be nuts for accepting Jackson's unusual, lucrative request. After injuring his ankle, he comes up with a "brilliant" plan to keep out of the public eye. He'll sign on as Rachel's newest (and most inept) cowboy, Stoney Jackson. While he quickly takes to his new "part," Cherie is sullen and intractable. That is until Chesty, the world's smartest dog, steps in.
