Neurologist Violet Fortune meets neurosurgeon Peter Clark when she refers a client to him. As he gets to know Violet, Peter grows very attracted to her, but he's aware that they're equally dedicated to their careers, and he wants a woman who can devote herself just as passionately to family life. Seeing her with one of his patients, Peter realizes that Violet has that ability, but he still can't let down his emotional walls. Karen Rose Smith's The Good Doctor (4) is a heartwarming story with a sweet but sexy romance at its core. The sparks between Peter and Violet are palpable, but what makes this couple so special is the author's subtle development of their emotional attachment.
