THE GOOD FATHER (3) by Kara Lennox: Single mother Jane Selwyn pressures businessman Max Remington to give her a job with his fledgling advertising company. The confirmed bachelor generally keeps his distance from single moms, but there's something about Jane and her charming daughter that draws him in. Jane proves to be the perfect asset -- for the company and for Max too. Lennox's story struggles under the weight of underdeveloped characters, and it's obvious this comes in at the tail end of a series. As a result, it's more difficult to follow as a stand-alone, since it draws in other characters without sufficient background.
