Book Review

GRACE UNDER PRESSURE
by Julie A. Hyzy

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

Hyzy, author of the White House Chef mysteries, kicks off a new series, the Manor of Murder mysteries. Lacking some of the built-in glamour of life at the White House, the Manor has a large cast of characters who are quirky and not necessarily lovable. This first book, written in first person, lacks focus but is still an entertaining and pleasant mystery.

Grace Wheaton has loved Marshfield Manor since she visited as a child. To be hired as the assistant curator, even on probation, is a dream come true. When her boss Abe retires in a year or so she will be the main curator, in charge of the grounds, the restaurant, the exhibits and the antiques and she couldn’t be happier. But when Abe is murdered, Grace has to keep the manor protected and millionaire Bennett Marshfield happy or all her dreams will be lost to threatening letters, old secrets, mysterious rooms and danger.
