Mann’s latest adventure brings readers back into the world of military dark ops, but this time the enemy is one of the military’s own. Fast paced and full of equal parts action, suspense, mystery and romance, this story has it all. A truly entertaining read.

In her quest for the truth about a test mission gone wrong (and to further her JAG career), Major Sophie Campbell goes after test director Major David Berg in a heated military trial. However, the case isn’t as cut and dried as Sophie thinks. David also wants to get to the bottom of the mystery — he doesn’t believe the fire control officer within his unit was at fault. As David and Sophie work together in their search for the truth, things heat up between the two, and danger unfolds around them. Soon David discovers he is willing to lay his life on the line to keep Sophie safe. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Sep., 304 pp., $7.99)
