The second book in rising star Kaye’s gritty Hard Ink series picks up after events from the launch book, as a betrayed former Special Forces team tries to uncover the truth about their botched mission. Kaye’s heroine is a battered survivor who will do whatever it takes to save her younger sister, even sacrifice herself. There is a sinister and desperate edge to this tale that will keep readers glued to their seats. Kaye has dark romantic suspense nailed!

During the mission to rescue Charlie Merritt from the Church gang who is torturing him, former Special Forces member Shane McCallan has an encounter with Crystal Dean, a waitress who works at the club where Charlie is being held. Surprisingly, Crystal aids Shane at great risk to herself. Due to her late father owing the Church gang money, Crystal has been forced to work for them. Only by being Bruno’s girlfriend has Crystal saved herself and her epileptic sister Jenna from a more dire fate. However, Bruno’s increasing viciousness and erratic behavior warns Crystal her time is running out. Now Shane has an additional mission: find a way to take down the Church gang and save Crystal!
