The second story in THE HARVEST, "All Good Gifts," is a charming romance dealing with mistrust. Tess Britton meets Ryan Walsh while closing the family cabin for winter. She harbors pain caused by the death of her unfaithful husband and is wary of men. Ryan has recently broken off his engagement, and doesn't want to scare Tess away with that information. They grow closer over mugs of hot cocoa and on walks on the beach, but Ryan's secret might backfire on him, causing exactly what he wished to avoid. Although it's somewhat frustrating when characters are kept apart due to a simple misunderstanding, Gayle Gaymer Martin's tale still offers an intriguing look at divine matchmaking.
