RT Rating

Rogers’ writing never ceases to amaze readers, as the team behind the name carefully weaves twists and turns into a spellbinding plot. Readers are guaranteed to be swept away by the depth of feeling in this dark and seductive paranormal romance. But newcomers beware: This is the second of the Green Pines series and you may have some trouble following the storyline, as Rogers doesn’t touch on the high points of the first installment.

Colin Knox has been enforcer for the council for many years and a break is long overdue. His soul feels broken after ordering too many kills and he needs time to sort out his emotions. Lorelei Adams also feels damaged; she’s faithfully led her pack, but at a huge personal cost. When the two meet, sparks fly, but Lorelei is just interested in something physical while Colin is hoping for something more. In the midst of their bouts of sexual tension, members of a secret coven are stirring up trouble at Green Pines sanctuary. Now, Lorelei and Colin must fight the battle together in order to save their love and their lives. (SAMHAIN, Jul., 224 pp., $14.00)
