Clark launches her Wedding Cake Mysteries series with a bang. Her heroine is young, bright, talented and forthright, with a more than a touch of curiosity and courage. It makes for a fun, fast read with characters that will make readers smile.

Piper Donovan heads home to Hillwood, N.J., after her acting gigs start petering out and her romance goes up in flames. Now, she’s helping her mother at the family bakery, Icing on the Cupcake. Her career may be iffy, but Piper’s thrilled her dear friend Glenna Brooks, one of the stars of the daytime drama A Little Rain Must Fall, has asked her to prepare the cake for her upcoming wedding. However, the murder of one of Glenna’s cast members puts a pall on the nuptials. As the body count mounts, Piper turns to her good buddy Jack, an FBI agent, for advice.
