William "Fitch" Minstead, sixth Earl
of Ackerman, has been living the life of
a carefree bachelor when he discovers
he has a 9-year-old daughter.

Miss Hilary Compton took in Lizzie and her mother and has raised Lizzie as her own since her mother's death. Extremely independent, Hilary speaks her mind when the earl arrives to meet his daughter. But her fears that the earl will take Lizzie are lifted when he asks her to marry him. He makes sure she understands it is to be a true marriage.

Hilary agrees, but sets some conditions of her own: She refuses to be her husband's chattel. She doesn't need a man telling her what to do. Fitch agrees.

While their passion for one another
is strong, Fitch holds something back. Hilary's efforts to find out his secret make him furious. It will take a great deal to make this stubborn man take the unconditional love Hilary offers.

Waddell knows how to touch readers' emotional buttons. I laughed, I cried and I sighed. A wonderful read! SENSUAL (Jun., 320 pp., $5.99)
