Book Review

THE HEALING
by Kathryn Fox

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: The Yukon Territory, 1868

2002 Best Western Romance Nominee

RT Rating

Mike Finnigan is an honest, hard-working lawman, whose chivalrous nature compels him to escort a pregnant ex-prostitute to her new home in the wilderness.

As he and Jenny form a friendship, quickly approaching love, he's unaware that in a desperate move to save herself and her unborn child, Jenny shot a man and buried the body.

The unique casting of characters (the good man and "bad" woman) blends well with the hint of a murder mystery and a wild Yukon setting. But it is the emotional storyline centering on the healing power of love that makes this one absorbing read. SENSUAL (Sep., 300 pp., $5.99)
