THE HEALING QUILT

Image of Healing Quilt:

Brunstetter’s talent shines in her latest novel, featuring an eclectic cast of characters who find healing through the life lessons learned in a quilting class. Readers will feel as though they are a part of the class, growing right alongside our protagonists. While the connection between the eponymous quilt and healing needed by the characters is lovely, the tale ends too soon and leaves you hoping that Emma plans to teach again in another installment.

Emma and Lamar Miller are in Florida on vacation, but Emma believes she’s been led to do what she does best: teach a quilting class. The unlikely students appear to have been brought together for different reasons: BJ, stricken with cancer, has family issues. Erika is confined to a wheelchair and seems to have lost all joy in life, while Kim has given up on love and Phyllis and Mike are looking for changes in their lives, to In class, the students find that they just might be able to heal themselves — and each other.
