IN THE HEART OF THE OUTBACK...
The first time marketing executive Fiona McLaren sees cattleman Byrne Drummond is the day her brother Jamie and Byrne's wife die in a car wreck together. Three years later, Fiona has the unenviable task of telling Byrne that his daughter, Riley, may be Jamie's. Hostile at first, Byrne warms to Fiona eventually -- but Riley's paternity and possible inheritance aren't the only obstacles between them. Barbara Hannay's In the Heart of the Outback ...(3) begins strongly -- its opening scenes have tremendous impact. The plot's fine, but the conflict's problematic -- and so is overly abrasive Byrne.
