Book Review

by Tracie Peterson

Genre: Inspirational, Historical Romance

RT Rating

Peterson takes on more than romance in the second book of the Striking a Match series. The story twists and turns as it follows the lives of men and women who pray for love and justice.

Deborah Vandermark is continuing her medical training and courtship with Dr. Christopher Clayton, until suddenly he sends her a letter that ends both those relationships. Deborah and her mother take turns caring for Sissy, a freed slave whose family were killed. The entire community is troubled until they try to bring about harmony through the Independence Day festivities. (BETHANY HOUSE, Mar., 368 pp., $14.99)
