Detective Becca Hilliard is investigating a series of murders when she meets Quinn Montgomery. The two are drawn to each other, but Quinn's prior love lost her life because of her law enforcement career. He has no plans to act on his feelings for Becca. Besides, he's lost his faith in God, and until he reaffirms that critical quality, he'll remain alone. Not to mention that the killer Becca is hunting is the biological father of a baby adopted by someone close to him. While the love part of the story reads lethargic at times, Margaret Daley's Hearts on the Line (3) has tension throughout, especially when Becca relies on her faith in God to get through difficult times.
