HEARTS OF SHADOW
Brady’s second installment of her Deadglass series continues its fantastic blend of mythology and the lore of various cultures. Although the distinct world Brady has created, with the backdrop of an apocalyptic Seattle, is fascinating, it’s a little daunting until the reader becomes immersed in the intense story and characters. This is a trilogy you’ll want to get lost in.
Grace Mercer has a wraith-killing ability that keeps her, as the unofficial protector of the city, in high demand. Unfortunately for Grace, she’s suddenly forced to work with a man whom she wants no part of: the new regent of the dragon shifter clan. Leif Asgard believes that helping Grace to hone her abilities is the key to survival for both humans and shifters. She is a weary warrior and his sensual dragon nature is becoming harder for him to control, putting their shaky alliance at risk. Now the only chance Leif and Grace have to save the world is to forever link their souls or all will be destroyed. (ZEBRA, May, 352 pp., $6.99)
