In her final book, Plain continues the saga of the Stern family, who were introduced in her classic, Evergreen. She does such an excellent job of re-introducing her characters that readers who haven’t read the previous books in the series will not be lost. Plain’s writing makes readers feel like they are talking to a friend. Her voice will truly be missed.
