Book Review

by Stephanie Bond, Leslie Kelly, Heidi Betts

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Anthology

RT Rating

More than a romp for the beach, this anthology features characters that have real lives -- not just hot sex, although there is plenty of that. Bond, Kelly and Betts are all justifiably renowned for their sizzle, and it's very much in evidence in these three extremely enjoyable stories.

In Bond's "Rex on the Beach," tracking a runaway groom leads private investigator Lucinda Belvedere to the best man, land developer Rex McCormick. Professional ethics aside, getting involved with Rex is a bad idea. But Lucinda's hormones aren't listening!

Counselor Damon Cole plans to spend a stress-free summer at his family's carnival -- but his skill as a mesmerist soon has him "Getting Into Trouble" in Kelly's tale. Trouble takes the form of single mom Allie Cavanaugh -- who tests everything Damon believes.

Researcher Abby Weaver recently ended an unsatisfying relationship, and a girls-only vacation with a friend sounds like a dream. But when her friend can't make it right away , Abby meets Marine Mike Mastriani, and their fling leaves her "Shaken and Stirred," in Betts' story. (Harlequin, Jul., 320 pp., $5.99)

Rex on the Beach

Submitted by Robin in PA on July 24, 2014 - 8:55pm.

I picked this book up to read the Stephanie Bond story called "Rex on the Beach". Private Investigator Lucinda Belvedere has been hired by her friend, Eugenia, to find her runaway groom. Michael disappeared and left Eugenia standing at the altar. Now Eugenia wants to know what happened to him and why he left. Lucy decides to see what information she can get from the best man, Rex McCormick. She finds Rex at his beach house and poses as a vacationer who wants to get to know Rex a little better. Lucy soon finds herself in over her head with this man.

This story is quick and cute. Lucy and Rex have incredible sexual chemistry and make a cute couple. The story was short and sweet and was a nice way to pass a few hours. My rating: 3 Stars.
