Valerie Parker resents Steven Crennell, a former NBA player and current junior partner in her father's advertising agency. Her father gave him the position, attention and account she's earned and longs for, but her attraction to and respect for Steven -- in spite of her jealousy -- threatens to explode like a volcano.

Handsome, smart and rich, Steven can have almost any woman he desires. When the tentacles of his ex-fiancee wave her off as competition, Valerie is forced to confront her fears and feelings. (DAFINA, Apr., 352 pp., $6.99)
