HELL FIRE
by Ann Aguirre

Genre: Paranormal/Urban Fantasy, Urban Fantasy

RT Rating

The second book in the Corine Solomon series is an entertaining follow-up to Blue Diablo. Told in Corine's first-person narration, it gives readers a chance to get to know this strong heroine haunted by her past and troubled by a bittersweet relationship with her ex. There's also a well-paced plot with a satisfying amount of suspense. Aguirre mixes the supernatural with real-life details and makes this well-crafted story feel authentic.

Corine is a handler. She can touch any object and know its history. When she travels home to Kilmer, Ga., to find out the truth behind her mother's death, she takes ex-boyfriend Chance with her. Chance has a unique talent
of his own; he has uncanny luck. And Corine will need all the luck she can get when they discover a dark curse lies over the town and all who live there -- and it can only be satisfied by death. (ROC, Apr., 336 pp., $6.99)
