This is an absolutely fantastic
and compulsively readable entry
in Green's long-running Nightside
series. Witty banter, a well-
constructed plot and compelling
characters combine to make this
one hell of a read.

After the war that almost completely destroyed the Nightside, private dick John Taylor finds himself working for the Griffin, an immortal human of immense wealth and power. His beloved granddaughter, Melissa, has disappeared, and the Griffin has given Taylor carte blanche to find her. Starting with the Griffin's family, Taylor digs into the mysterious clan's secrets -- only he has to do it the hard way, since someone or something is blocking his gift for finding people and things -- at least when it comes to Melissa.
