A wonderful bunch of interesting and charming characters makes this book a delightfully fun read, and there's some underlying seriousness to keep it from being too fluffy. The hero's and heroine's character development over the course of this novel is enjoyable to watch, and the final outcome is very well done.

When aspiring author and psychologist Tory Hoffstra discovers that the only way she'll get a book published is to agree to co-write one with Keenan James, she's appalled. She believes he's a charlatan who makes money off women with perceived instabilities.

After anonymously sitting in on a session he has with some women to discuss their problems, she's sure of it. Too bad she's also terribly attracted to him, even if she's terrified of dogs and he has one. Just when she decides to refuse the book deal, the loss of her job forces her to accept it. Maybe they'll both learn something from this complicated relationship! (Avon, Jan., 384 pp., $6.99)
