Book two in the Backstage Pass series is about family, food and fitting in. Thompson writes an enjoyable story that will make you want to adopt the Pappas family as your own. Even though the romance feels rushed, the behind- the-scenes look at the making of a television show makes up for it.
Athena Pappas is the head writer on one of the most popular sitcoms in television history. But when they bring in Vegas comedian Stephen Cosse to beef up the show’s suddenly sagging ratings, she starts to worry about her job. Sparks fly as the competition — and the attraction — between the two writers heat up. Athena has never had a problem scripting the romances of her characters. So why is her own love life so hard to write? (REVELL, Sep., 304 pp., $14.99)
