Twenty years ago, four 18-year-old best friends in the small town of Haddes, Georgia, made their own fantasy time capsules--sealed letters telling where they hoped or expected to be in life when they opened them. Now they're ready to do that. Photojournalist Erica, bookstore owner Mattie, psychic Shay and sweet Della find their lives have turned out somewhat different than imagined. Then a teenage girl disappears, and they join forces to find her. Hell's Belles (4.5) by Kristen Robinette is filled with laughter and tears as each woman finds the person she wanted to become. The mystery wraps around the personal issues most effectively, and all four women are worth cheering for. Della's children are real, very funny and among the most enjoyable I've ever read.
