A new superheroine has arrived on the scene and will hopefully be around for a long time. Emma has what it takes to keep the demons in line, but must survive some serious scrapes to do so. She becomes more aware of her powers as the story progresses, and she needs every one of them. Great characters complement an exciting plot in this thrilling series starter.

Emma Jane Hellsbane is a nephilim: half human, half angel — and she’s in a boatload of trouble. Her dad, like all of his fallen angel comrades, wants his offspring dead. But Emma can’t take such a slight too personally, since her own mission is to find and kill her father. It’s the only way to redeem his fall from grace and return her life to normal. Emma finds help in the form of seraphim guide Eli and another nephilim, Tommy, who’s trying to track down his own fallen angel father. But their quest won’t be easy, as they are pursued relentlessly by the Fallen and their demon minions. (ENTANGLED, Nov., 352 pp., $14.99)
