HER ACCIDENTAL ENGAGEMENT
HER ACCIDENTAL ENGAGEMENT (4.5) by Michelle Major: Julia Morgan moves home to Brevia, N.C., for a new start with her son, Charlie, but she’s got more problems than a past full of regrets and secrets — she’s got an ex who is suing for custody. Sexy police chief Sam Callahan is confident his idea for an engagement of convenience with Julia will solve all their problems within their nosy small town. But his desire for her is real. Major’s accidental romance rocks. Tormented by their pasts and afraid to love again, the characters play their roles perfectly, and the attitudes and antics of the people in their small town are spot-on. Major’s use of humor is exceptional, especially when her characters employ it to mask their insecurities and suffering.
