HER BEST FRIEND
HER BEST FRIEND (3) by Sarah Mayberry: When Amy Parker finds out the town council plans to renege on its verbal promise to allow her to buy and refurbish the local theater, she calls an old friend, attorney Quinn Whitfield, for help. Quinn, happy to get away from his own life and the memory of his failed marriage, comes home to lend a hand. Amy's love for Quinn has never died, but will he be able to see that she's always loved him? Although well written, Mayberry's girl-in-love-with-her-best-friend plot is predictable. Still, Amy and Quinn's rebuilding of their relationship is thoughtfully portrayed, and the addition of an evil developer builds interest.
