HER CAPTAIN'S HEART
Verity Hardy is on her way to Fiddlers Grove, Va., in 1866 to teach Negro children. She believes the Lord called her to help and it's the right thing to do. Matthew Ritter is also working to help lost souls. But there's only one house for them to live in, so they must come to an understanding. When the locals start harassing them, Verity and Matthew know they have to present a united front to get the people to move past the horrors of the war. Lyn Cote's Her Captain's Heart (4) is more than a great love story; it's a terrific look into the past about how people used faith and determination to help those most affected by the Civil War.
