After being gone for almost a year and a half, Princess Tatiana shows up on the doorstep of her once-husband, Lord Matthew Weston, looking for help. She tells Matthew that she needs his assistance trying to write the history of her ancestor, Princess Sophia.

Matthew doesn't believe or trust her. After all, she didn't tell him she was a princess when she married him and then ran off. He agrees to help her, but doesn't know her search is only part of the plan.

Their search takes them to Effington Hall. Tatiana has still not told Matthew the whole truth. It is only when they find her room has been ransacked that she feels she must confess.

Seeking privacy, Matthew takes Tatiana to his hot air balloon, where she tells all. She is looking for the real "heavens," perfect jewels that have a great deal of monetary value and symbolic value for the people. Will Tatiana find what she is looking for and will she and Matthew be able to find a way to be together?

HER HIGHNESS, MY WIFE is an enjoyable story filled with adventure and romance. I appreciated how Ms. Alexander added to the story with information about hot air ballooning. Funny and cute, I would recommend this romance for the reader looking for a light-hearted but completely satisfying read. SENSUAL (Aug., 380 pp., $5.99)
