Wealthy businesswoman Morgan Steele's success has cost her -- she has no personal life. Buying a rambling country house is a step toward change, but it only emphasizes her singleness. Then grumpy country vet Alistair Brown comes along, and Morgan's high school nemesis wants to visit. Alistair agrees to pretend he's Morgan's fiance, if she'll reciprocate when his custody fight with his ex heats up. The arrival of Alistair and his twin girls make Morgan's house a home, but it's only temporary. Or is it? Jessica Hart's Her Ready-Made Family (4.5) is warm, witty and wonderful, despite its familiar plotline. And cranky Alistair's a treat.
