Brought back to the small town of Indigo by her godmother's death, Sophie Clarkson plans to settle the estate and go. But just sorting out her antique shop will take time. Being there makes Sophie reminisce about summers past, but seeing police chief Alain Boudreaux reminds her why she left. Once nearly engaged, they haven't seen each other in years. Both have been married and divorced, Alain's still working on custody issues with his ex, but their feelings haven't changed. Is there a chance for a future together? Marisa Carroll's Her Summer Lover (2) is bound to this continuity series by only the slenderest thread. Its only interesting aspect involves a subplot featuring some supporting characters. Alain and Sophie are likable, but there's just no sizzle between them.
