HER VAMPIRE HUSBAND
Starting with an intriguing marriage-of-convenience plot between werewolf and vampire, this action-intense tale quickly morphs into a love story with a subtext of paranormal politics. Though a stand-alone, the inclusion of characters from Hauf's previous stories is a nice touch.
Werewolf princess Blu Masterson is forced to marry a vampire to seal a pact of peace between the two groups. Lord Credence Saint-Pierre, one of the few vampire elders possessing witch magic, agrees to be the vampire's representative. Neither Blu nor Creed has planned on this being anything more than a marriage for show, so neither is happy when they discover true feelings for one another -- especially when they realize that neither the werewolves nor the vampires has any intention of honoring the truce the marriage was to represent.
