his second in the Trouble series has everything that makes contemporary romance fun to read. Chase McDermott is one sexy cowboy, and though he’s a bit of a player, he’s irresistible. Lacy is vulnerable, but gets the chance to grow. Both are realistic and believable characters, and their longtime friendship-turned-romance is a great recipe for playful dialogue. Kern is an author to keep track of.

Lacy Taylor seems destined to live up to the unfortunate name of her hometown of Trouble, Wyo. When her love/hate relationship with lady-killer Chase McDermott takes a turn for the passionate, they come up with a no-commitment plan to keep them both happy. Lucy wants a distraction from her troubles and Chase is happy to help — until he sees how vulnerable she truly is.
