HERE IS MY HEART
by Michele Hauf

Genre: Historical Romance
Setting: Paris, 1640

RT Rating

Matthieu Auchet is in love with Josephine Lalique, who is in love with Julien Delaroche, who is in love with Helene Lalique who is in love with...no one.

Helene is a flirt who keeps many soldiers and other admirers on a string via her love letters to the front. Her younger sister, Josephine, falls in love with one of the soldiers, Julien, because of his beautiful letters, although she has never met him.

Matthieu has been Josephines friend since childhood and has been in love with her since adolescence. She, however, cannot seem to make the leap beyond friendship. Julien, on the other hand, has something far different than courtship in mind in his relationship with the Lalique sisters and Matthieu.

Though the plot meanders a bit, ultimately, Josephine learns what true love really is in this sweet tale reminiscent of many young adult novels. SWEET (Mar., 350 pp., $4.99)
